| After
BHS, I entered John Carroll University and graduated from their School
of Business in 1968. I was both Junior and Senior Class President,
appeared on the Dean’s List and was recognized in “Who’s
Who in American Colleges and Universities”. Upon graduation,
I taught math at Padua Franciscan High School in Parma, Ohio for
four years.
I
entered the financial services industry in 1974 and received the
designation of a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 1981. I have
been a registered representative of the regional broker/dealer
firm of WRP Investments since 1979 and currently manage a branch
office for WRP.
I
have been an active member of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the
Financial Planners including serving on its Board of Directors.
I
am president of Kennard Financial Services, a financial planning
firm located in Garfield Heights which has twelve representatives.
The firm includes 4 Certified Financial Planners, a Certified Public
Accountant and an Attorney. Included in our firm are two BHS grads,
Rich Maggio and Greg Pozar, both class of ’65. Our firm offers
financial plans and analysis, tax planning and preparation, mutual
funds, variable annuities, Individual Retirement Accounts and rollovers,
as well as life insurance, annuities, and estate planning.
My
wife Mary and I have 4 grown children. Erin (age 31) is married,
has a daughter (our only grandchild) and lives in Virginia. She
has a Masters Degree in Special Education and teaches high school
in Fairfax County Virginia.
Korenna
(age 30) is engaged, living in Bay Village, and is finishing up
her Doctorate of Psychology at Akron University.
Tim
(age 28) is a Medical Doctor in his second year of residency in
Charlotte, North Carolina. He is engaged, and will be entering
the Air Force when he finishes his residency in July 2007.
Jeff
(age 27) has an M.B.A. in finance from Ohio University. He lives
in Garfield Heights and currently works as an underwriter for AIG
in Cleveland. The hope is sometime down the road, he will come
into the business with me.
Mary
and I have been happily married for 22 years (second, and last
wife). We lived in Brecksville, Ohio for 18 years, but moved to
Richfield in 2004 after the kids all left. Mary, a registered nurse,
retired in 1999 and now is a hospice volunteer. We are both active
in our church, St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Brecksville.
I
am also an active alumnus of John Carroll University and served
on its alumni board from 1999-2005.
Two
of my most cherished honors are being inducted into Bedford High
School’s Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in 1998, and being
presented the John Carroll’s Alumni Service Award in 2003.
When
I am not working (which I love), you can probably catch me on the
golf course or vacationing. |
