After graduation I went to Kent State to become a Spanish teacher.
Somewhere along the way I decided partying was better than studying
and after 2 years paid the price and was out of school. When I got
my draft notice I decided I didn't want to join the Army and go to
Nam so I decided to join the Navy for 4 years and see the world. Unfortunately
fate played a cruel trick on me. After being ported out of Hawaii for
2 years and enjoying myself I received orders to Nam. After all the
training etc I was sent to Qui Nhon and became captain of a Patrol
boat. I stayed longer than the original tour to get my discharge earlier.
I returned right around the KSU shootings so it was a tough time to
come back as a Nam Vet. I went back to the job I started before I got
my draft notice at Goodrich Chemical and with the Government picking
up my tuition I went backed to school and dedicated myself to studying
this time. But I decided I didn't want to teach Spanish. Since I was
working for a chemical company I thought that was the way to go. I
received my degree in chemistry and business from Akron Univ. During
this time I met and married by wonderful wife Adrienne. We have 2 wonderful
children. Jay is a CPA living in Columbus and Kristen is a high school
Special Ed. teacher in the Cinnci school system I am now tech/sls mgr
for a global privately held chem. co. I enjoy my Harley, playing baseball
in the senior league and traveling with my wife of 34 years. A great
meal and a nice cabernet helps, too. Love my cats Josey and Scooter.
Have not missed a reunion and enjoy seeing all the classmates!!
See you next reunion.
