I live in Hawaii, where the temperatures of 70 to 80 degrees every
day of the year. It is paradise on earth. In addition to the pictures
attached, lots more pictures of me and us at work, feeding the homeless,
are linked on www.boberb.org.
I had been helping a friends and family deal with significant life
changing experiences in Virginia and Ohio, and Las Vegas this past year.
I am back in Hawaii in the process of trying reenergizing the Waikiki
Beach Outreach Ministry(more information is on www.waikikibeachoutreach.com).
Thank you for your interest and expressing your desire to learn more
about me. Praise the Lord for giving us life and an opportunity to
experience new dimensions in our lives. God is good and it is always
a pleasure to share the Spirit of the Lord.
For those who know me and the family, I am from a family of 6. My brother,
Steven, committed suicide about 15 years ago, three sisters, Nora,
Lynn and Sherry are living in Ohio and one, Jean, lives in California.
I am the second oldest. Both my mother and father have passed away
from this world. I have 3 children born by me. Robert III lives in
Ohio, and has 2 children, Robert IV and David. Angelena lives in Ohio
finishing college. Ryan lives in Virginia and has a new baby coming
with his new wife. The mother of Robert divorced me in 1978 for another
man. The mother of Angelena chose to sleep with other men. The mother
of Ryan left me in 1997 right after I was fired from my professional
job that supported her well on a lake. I have not had a professional
job since and have learned how to be homeless as I am helping others.
I used to work as a project contract engineer or ran my own businesses
most of my carrer.
I went to Sunday school and was first baptized by water sprinkling
at the First Methodist Church in Bedford, Ohio, during my teenage years.
I became lost in the world and became addicted to alcohol. This addiction
led me into Alcoholics Anonymous on November 6, 1972; six months later
I turned his life over to God and was baptized in the Spirit. In 1985,
after becoming very successful and earning several degrees, I became
a member of the Blue Ridge Shores Baptist Church and was baptized with
immersion. I continued to serve God by teaching Sunday school, helping
churches to renovate and expand, ministering and leading Boy Scouts,
leading a prison ministry for three years, preaching when called upon,
earned several more degrees, and helped many other organizations whenever
I was asked. I encountered challenges that led me back into drugs and
alcohol when I turned my back on God’s will in 1997. I became
homeless and lived on Waikiki Beach for 7 months and experienced how
the homeless live. On March 28, 2003 I rededicated his life to God
and my life began to change again. I knew God didn’t allow those
experiences to occur for no reason as I was reading scriptures every
day. Less than a month later I was invited by a church as a volunteer
pastor and anointed by the Holy Spirit. Today I am following the voice
of the Lord feeding the homeless by sharing my pension to provide food
for the homeless. The Holy Spirit has assured me that others will assist
me with their time and resources as they recognize the needs. I was
granted a scholarship for a degree in church ministry that I have completed
and have registered to attend the Hawaii Seminary in September 2006
to earn a doctorate in theology. |
